Palm Sunday
Palm Sunday is a moveable feast which constantly falls on the Sunday before Easter, commemorating Christ’s glorious entry into Jerusalem the week before he was crucifiedIn numerous Christian churches, Palm Sunday is manifest by the distribution of palm leaves (often tied into crosses) to the assembled worshippers. The difficulty of procuring palms for that day’s ceremonies in unfavorable climates for palms led to the replacement of boughs of box, yew, willow or other native trees.
